Automatic Overdraft Transfers

Set up your checking account to automatically transfer money from your primary share account, overdraft protection line of credit, or another one of your accounts when there aren’t sufficient funds in your checking account to cover checks you’ve written or automatic deductions you’ve set up. It’s incredibly convenient when you need it.

Courtesy Pay Protection

Mistakes are inevitable, returned checks or payments are not. With Highmark’s Courtesy Pay, you may avoid the embarrassment of a declined debit card, or the hassle of returned checks or automatic payments, in addition to the merchant fees that follow. If you never use it, there is no charge for the peace of mind Courtesy Pay provides. But if you find you need it, Highmark will make sure your check/payment is paid, (up to $500 in most cases), with only the Courtesy Pay fee applied.

Some eligibility restrictions apply. Accounts with Courtesy Pay will be charged the standard overdraft fee of $30 for handling each overdraft created by check, ACH, Point-of-Sale, ATM withdrawal, in-person withdrawal, or other electronic item that is paid. A negative balance must be repaid within 30 days to be in good standing. Highmark Federal Credit Union may choose to not pay items under the Courtesy Pay program if the account is not maintained in good standing, or if the account is not brought into a positive balance within a thirty day period for a minimum of 24 hours, or if there is a default on any loan or other obligation to Highmark Federal Credit Union, or if the account is subject to any legal or administrative order or levy.
