Highmark is the approved lender in western South Dakota for the Homes for Heroes Program.

The purpose of this program is to provide real savings and discounts for heroes who are buying or selling a home.

Who qualifies as a hero? Anyone who is active or retired military, firefighters, law enforcement, and RNs.

While savings vary based on the final selling price of the home, there are several areas that applicants will receive savings from, including real estate commissions when using an affiliated Real Estate company, lending fees, closing fees, and home inspection fees.

On the financing side, there are real dollars saved by qualified heroes with free appraisals – Highmark pays for this report, and discounted title closing costs. There could also be additional savings with down payment assistant options, resulting in less money needed at the time of closing.
